Futures

What are Futures?

A futures contract is a standardized financial agreement to buy or sell an underlying asset at a predetermined price on a specified future date. Exchange-traded futures contracts are cleared through organized venues and can be based on various commodities, currencies, and market indices.

The Bing Capital Partners Ltd platform may provide access to CFDs based on underlying futures contracts, subject to instrument availability. Examples include financial instruments linked to the ICE U.S. Dollar Index or the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX).

When trading Futures CFDs, clients do not acquire or hold the exchange-traded futures contract itself. Instead, market participants take a position based on the underlying contract’s price movements.

Futures CFDs are complex, leveraged derivative products. Trading on margin involves a high level of risk to invested capital.

Traded Futures Markets & Expiry

CFDs with underlying futures contracts may have a defined expiry date. The terms governing contract expiration and position settlement depend on the specific instrument and underlying venue rules.

Where a CFD does not provide for an automatic position rollover to the next contract period, open positions may be closed at the applicable settlement price upon expiration. Clients wishing to maintain market exposure following expiration may need to manually open a new position on the subsequent contract.

Expiry schedules, settlement price calculation methodologies, and position handling procedures are detailed within the instrument specifications.

Futures CFDs are leveraged financial instruments that carry a high risk to capital due to market volatility.
